What is this app?

It notifies you when heavy rain is moving toward a place you care about. Add a location on the map and we'll let you know when heavy rain is approaching.

What is it useful for? Is this a weather forecast app?

It helps you plan ahead and avoid getting caught by incoming heavy rain — for your home, land, vineyard, or any property. This is not a forecast. We don't predict days ahead — we track what's happening now and notify you when rain is on the way.

How will I be notified?

By email, or by SMS if you add your phone number. You choose — and you can change it anytime from your dashboard.

How do I choose a location?

Search for a city or address and select it from the results — the pin moves to that spot. You can also drag the pin to fine-tune the exact position. The location name is set automatically based on the city.

How accurate is it? How often will I get notifications?

We aim to notify you before heavy rain reaches your location, but timing can vary. It's a simple tool meant to be useful, not exact. Notifications are sent only when there is heavy rain near your location — some weeks none, other times a few in a day.

What's the difference between plans?

Starter (free) lets you try it with one location and 3 notifications — enough to see how it works. Basic (€2.90/month) monitors one place with no notification limits. Plus (€7.90/month) covers up to 3 locations with more frequent updates — useful if you care about more than one place, like your home and land in a different area. Cancel anytime.

Where is this available? Is this a finished product?

Currently focused on Slovenia and nearby regions, using radar data from ARSO. More countries may be added over time. This started as a personal tool and is still evolving based on real usage and feedback.

What the service does

RainFlow monitors weather radar data and sends notifications when heavy rain is detected moving toward locations you have set up. It is a best-effort notification tool, not a guaranteed early-warning system. We do not predict weather days in advance — we track what is happening in real time.

No guarantee of alerts

Notifications depend on radar data availability, internet connectivity, and the accuracy of storm-movement predictions. Alerts may be delayed, missed, or occasionally incorrect. We are not liable for any damage, loss, or harm resulting from a missed or late notification. Do not rely solely on RainFlow for safety-critical decisions.

Accounts

You sign in using a one-time code sent to your email. You are responsible for keeping access to your email account secure. We may suspend accounts that violate these Terms.

Subscriptions and billing

Paid plans are billed monthly through Stripe. Prices are in euros (€). Your subscription renews automatically until cancelled. You can cancel anytime from your dashboard — your plan stays active until the end of the current billing period.

Refunds

We do not offer refunds for unused portions of a billing period. In exceptional circumstances we may issue a refund at our discretion. Contact us at hello@rainflow.info.

Acceptable use

You may not attempt to disrupt our systems, scrape or reverse-engineer the Service, resell access, or use it for any unlawful purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Matija Rijavec s.p. is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the three months preceding the claim.

Changes

We may update these Terms or the Service at any time. Significant changes will be communicated by email. Continued use constitutes acceptance.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Slovenia and applicable EU regulations. Disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of competent courts in Slovenia.

You must be at least 16 years old to use RainFlow.

What we collect

Your email address (account and notifications), phone number if provided (SMS alerts only), location coordinates of places you choose to monitor, notification history (timestamps, channel, storm data), and anonymised usage data via Google Analytics. Payment details are handled by Stripe — we do not store card information.

Why we collect it

Account, location monitoring, and notification delivery are necessary to provide the Service (contract performance). Analytics help us improve the product (legitimate interest).

Third-party services

We work with trusted third-party services for infrastructure, authentication, email delivery, payments, SMS, mapping, and analytics. Each processes data under their own privacy policies.

Data retention

Account data: kept while your account is active, deleted on request. Notification history: kept indefinitely while your account exists. Raw radar data: deleted after 7–14 days. Inactive location pins: deleted after 6 months.

Cookies

We use cookies for session management (keeping you signed in) and Google Analytics (anonymised analytics). No advertising cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser, though this may affect sign-in.

Your rights (GDPR)

As an EU resident you have the right to access, correct, delete, and export your data, and to object to processing. To exercise these rights email hello@rainflow.info. You may also lodge a complaint with the Slovenian Information Commissioner at ip-rs.si. We respond within 30 days.

Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Database access is restricted to authenticated services only. We do not sell your personal data.

We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated by email.
